And so I get asked a few times about what does a coach do? And how does a coach help?
So there is a few simple answers for that a coach, or a business coach provides an outside perspective on your image, the image that you’re in, an image of you and your business as for the owner, because as long as you’re in the image you cannot see, understand and feel what’s happening in the image because you’re in there.
It’s pretty hard to see the image if you’re in it.
So somebody from outside takes a look at an image and says, Hey, looks like you’re doing this wrong or move this around and try something different because that part of your image doesn’t look right.
Another way to think about it is, think of all the sports teams, how many sports teams do you know that don’t have a coach? Answer? Zero?
How many pro athletes? Do you know that don’t have a coach? Answer? Zero?
Do these guys, the teams or the pro athletes have a chance of winning a championship or any sort of title without a coach? Answer? Absolutely not. Right?
These coaches work with the team and give them feedback on:
- How they’re doing?
- What they should be working on?
- What they should be focusing on?
Now, most pro teams and pro athletes have multiple coaches. Right?
One coach for the game, one coach for the mindset, coach for their physical training; different coaches for different things ensure that they would succeed and get what they want in terms of their goals.
What does a business coach do?
A coach, especially when it comes to business, helps the business owner and the business to create and implement plans and strategies to help the business and the owner to reach their goals and provide support and accountability to achieve their goals. Because as business owners, we’re all lonely people in our conquest to get to where we want to go.
We don’t talk to a lot of people, and we have to make a lot of decisions day in day out. the decisions about the growth of the business decisions about a staff services, products pricing, unlimited what we need to d
But once a business owner gets support, things get a lot easier, things get done, especially when there’s accountability, things get done. And the rate of procrastination goes down significantly.
The failure rate on businesses is about 80% to 90% depending on who you talk to where they are, what kind of business and what industry and whatnot.
However, it’s 80 to 90% or more. So 80 or 90% of is that a start today, they won’t make it to the first year, another 80% or 90% don’t make it to the fifth year, another 80% or 90% don’t make it to the 10th year.
So the failure rate is pretty high and yet you see a lot of business owners that don’t even think about getting support and accountability to get things done.
That happens a lot in sports teams and that’s why you see most of the good sports teams that are winning titles, first of all work with a coach and they work with a good coach.
So once a business owner starts working with a coach those failure rates change around and most businesses and the entrepreneurs that work with a business coach, experience success in a much faster and more secure way and the ones that don’t.
