Unlocking the Power of Storytelling in Sales

Over the past few days, I’ve been studying storytelling.

It’s a very interesting topic, and I’ve realized that I haven’t been using enough stories in my sales process and overall on social media and everything else that I do.

Naturally, I’m a storyteller. I like to describe what happens with emotions, and I get all animated about it.

I’ve been told that I tell good stories, but I haven’t done enough of it in business.

For some reason, I always thought that people don’t like to spend too much time listening to stories.

So i always tried to make it simple, get to the point, and show them the solution and the results?

Big mistake. Right?

Revitalizing Content with Story Selling

I also realized that with my upcoming book, “Simple Marketing Formula,” I didn’t include any stories in there.

The book is as dry as bones in this draft. It is kind of like a how to manual. 🤮

I’ve had beta readers go through the book, and some of them said, ‘The book is so dry. Why doesn’t it have any stories in there?’

Harnessing the Power of Narrative

So to fix that, today and tomorrow, I’m going through the book, and adding stories related to each section of the book and how I came up with that idea and what the result were.

You’re probably thinking, ‘Of course, genius! You should’ve thought about including stories. Without them, it doesn’t even make sense.’

Well, that’s better late than never!

Since I started studying storytelling over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been trying to use some of the techniques that I’ve learned with talking to people and with the writing here, and it’s been working pretty well.
